Famous: moi?
Jul 16th, 2008 by Los Havros
Well, not really famous but perhaps on the long and winding road to getting there. They say that everyone will get their 15 minutes of fame. If that is so, then I have got mine!
I was going through my usual routine: checking tweets, going on Flickr, reading feeds and cruising my admin area of my blog and I notice some traffic coming from somewhere interesting. Lo and behold, it’s an article called ‘Twitter UK traffic: up 485% this year, 70% higher than USA‘. I carry on reading and I’m mentioned there! How on earth I’ve got into the ‘Top 10 search terms sending UK internet traffic to www.twitter.com, 4 weeks ending 12 July 2008‘ though, is simply beyond me.
It gets better though. Underneath the chart is the following:
This most recent top 10 includes Kevin Rose (founder of Digg, drinker of tea), the blogger Los Havros, and Los Havros, and Molly Wood (executive editor of CNET’s Buzz Report).
I’m just pleased as punch to get such a mention and be included in the same sentence as the founder of Digg and an executive editor of CNET! I have so many questions though: am I now classed as a trend-setter? Am I really a Town Gown Transition person-thingy? Sorry if this post sounds a bit smug; I’m not full of myself or anything, I’m just shocked and equally excited. I probably don’t even deserve a mention, but there you go- my 15 minutes are up.

Hah! That’s so cool ^_^ I would have been as equally as excited. Enjoy the traffic!

Cheers! Funnily enough, I really haven’t benefitted too much traffic-wise. Maybe that’ll change in a few days or so?
So, what kind of strings did you have to pull for that? Haha jk, seriously, that is mightily impressive to be alongside the editor of Cnet!
“Dear Blog, global domination got one step closer today….”
Rockers, cheers! I haven’t really benefitted traffic-wsie yet, but maybe that’ll change in a few days?
MaSh, I assure you that no strings were pulled! Not too many, anyway :p That is quite a good opening. Maybe I’ll have reason to use it in a bit!
