Living the Low-tech Life
by Adam on September 21, 2008
From this Wednesday onwards, I’ll be leaving these digital shores to lead the life of a relatively low-tech person. For my flat in Liverpool, I’ve signed upto a mobile broadband contract with Three which will give me lower internet speeds than I am used to, and a monthly usage limit of 3Gb. Whilst I have no idea whether this limit will be adequate enough (it was cheap), I’m guessing that I won’t be able to carry on with my current usage habits.
What will this mean for me? Well, my finger won’t be on the pulse as much with the latest gaming and technology news, as I will have to dedicate most of my allowance to university work. And what will it mean for you, the reader? Possibly not as many posts. My current thinking is that I’ll be able to crank out a post every week or two (though this can, and probably will vary!).
So what will I be doing instead? Well, we’ve actually got a TV this year, yay! So I won’t need to use 4OD and BBC iPlayer in theory. I’ll also use the opportunity of going on the internet less to get some more Uni work done, if that’s possible! I’ll also have time to hit the gym often which should help me to sculpt my body to perfection, like a Greek statue…
I’ll post more about this situation that I’m going to find myself in, and whether or not I’m able to cope with it! I’m interested to know what other readers would do in a situation like this?
