I thought it would be interesting from time to time to show (completely anonymously) who’s visiting this blog, what they’re visiting, and how they’re doing it. Let’s take a look shall we?
I think on average (for some reason Analytics doesn’t seem to do averages, if they do please let me know!) I get about 40 views a day. But what ‘is’ that traffic? Well, about 75% of my traffic comes from search engines (mainly Google), 15% is from referring sites (much appreciated), and 10% is direct traffic. Depressingly, Internet Explorer is the top browser used, but I am by no means surprised. Firefox come a very close second. Safari comes in third, so at least it clinches the bronze medal. What you may find interesting though, is that a number of people access my site using the PlayStation 3 browser, followed by Google’s Chrome, followed by the PSP. I’ll also mention for completeness that Opera, Mozilla Suite and SeaMonkey also make an appearance. This is of course, using browser view.
Switching to Operating Systems tells me what I already know: the vast majority of readers are Windows users, with Mac users coming a distant second. As I suspected with browser usage, some ‘Safari’ users have actually been browsing my site through an iPod Touch, or an iPhone. It’s a good job my site is friendly to such users (I hope, as Ive never had the opportunity to test on an iPod Touch or iPhone).
People come to read by blog from 61 different countries. The top three countries in this order are: the UK (no surprise there, is this blog is mainly aimed at the UK), followed by the USA and Canada. Whilst I can’t, and don’t want to be ‘all things to all people’, I realise that focusing on the UK market in some instances may not be the best thing for readers. So if you are a reader from outside the UK, and have some ideas of how I can make this blog more relevant to you, please let me know!
With regards to my returning visitors against new visitors, it’s not good. Not good at all. This is definitely something I need to work on. How exactly I’m going to achieve an improvement here is anyone’s guess. But dammit I’ll try!
Paradoxically, whilst the majority of my readers hail from the UK, followed by the US, the languages used to view my blog are the other way round! I think what’s going on here is that a lot of UK users have their language settings on on US. It happens. What is humbling though, is that the next highest language visiting my blog is Spanish. This is probably due to the fact that ‘Los Havros’ sounds undeniably Spanish. Is this my intention? Possibly. Los Havros has been one of my nicknames (don’t ask) and is a variant on my name. I would like to add though, that I have a GCSE in Spanish and I hope one day to become fluent!
What content are people most hungry for when they arrive at my blog? They’re very interested in ‘PS3 fan noise’, ‘Hayley Williams’ (and her piercing), and the ‘PSP brite’. The rest of it is of course, what I’m writing about: the PS3 and PSP. I won’t go into specifics, but you get the general gist!
Well, that’s about as far as I want to go for now. I know I haven’t covered everything, but some things are best left to the imagination! I’ve tried to be as transparent as I possibly can be, without divulging too much info away. What there definitely is though, is an upward trend in popularity and visitors to the site, which is always good to know. But what matters to me, is making sure that people who visit my blog find what they want, and those people who are regular visitors are guaranteed of having a great read with a cup of coffee or beverage of their choice.

Welcome to my personal blog where I ramble on about PS3-related gaming matters and other snippets that interest me.
