Cool gear that doesn’t cost the earth

by Adam on September 23, 2008

That sentiment, and other clichés.  I’m here all week.

Soo… I was perusing round a ‘Forest Shop’ which is run by the Forestry Commission.  Like you do.  It seems they have gone eco-crazy since the last time I went into one of their forests.  However seen as they are responsible for maintaining the UK’s forests and woodlands, I suppose being eco-friendly is not such a bad idea!

I’m referring to the time that I visited Yorkshire, and went into Dalby Forest.  That was just over a month ago now.  This post has been sitting in my ‘drafts’ section since then!  I’ll go off a tangent here and just mention that my ‘drafts’ section for my posts can be like a graveyard, as some of the drafts my never see the light of day.  This almost happened to this post.

Anyhow, let’s continue.  The first really cool item I’d like to bring to your attention is a mousemat, made from a recycled circuit board.  I suppose you could call it the gift for the geek who has it all.  Now, the following picture cannot even begin to show you how shiny and cool this looks:

If you want one of these beauties, you can acquire then direct from Revolve.

The next couple of items I want to show you are drinks glasses made from recycled bottles which are very unique and individual.  They’re perfect items for people (like me, maybe you!) who wants something a little bit different from your standard glasses you can get from Ikea or your local supermarket.  Here they are:

These glasses and more, are made in Cornwall by Green Glass.

Well, that’s about all I wanted to show you!  There’s a couple more photos on Flickr with some extra info, if you’re interested.  I hope you enjoyed looking at these items, and let me know if you’ve got some cool and unique items as I’m always interested in such things.
