Paramore’s first two awards- Teen Choice Awards for Best Rock Track with “crushcrushcrush” and Best Rock Group. The band are really stoked about this and so they should, they deserve it!

I’ve just got some thoughts specifically on Paramore’s latest single ‘crushcrushcrush‘ that I’d like to share with you seen as it wasn’t really focused on in the original album review. I have to say, it is one of my favourite songs on the album. It just has to be the upbeat tempo that keeps it going right from the start, followed by some damn catchy lyrics. The kick-ass drums and meaty guitar riffs are just sensational.
What really sets the song apart from perhaps similar efforts by other bands has to be Hayley. I’ve heard her perform some acoustic versions; absolutely amazing. Unfortunately on the CD version of the single, there is just crushcrushcrush with no other song accompanying it on the CD. A nice acoustic version would be the icing on the cake. In fact, I’d recommend that Paramore flaunt their greatest strength- Hayley’s voice, by including acoustic versions on all their single releases.
A little snippet on the music video: what on earth? A good, run-of-the-mill video, but in my opinion it didn’t really match the subject matter of the song as well as it could have done. Oh well, that’s directors for you.

The song: 5 STARS
The single*: 2 STARS
*Not good value at all if you already own the album- where’s the extra songs?!
